1. Overview
You can ask us to delete your Niya Afrika account and the personal data we hold about you. We will process verified requests within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.

2. How to request deletion
Option A — Email (recommended)
Send a deletion request from the email address linked to your account to niyaafrika@niya.africa. Include:
- Your full name
- Registered email address
- Mobile number on the account (if any)
- Statement that you want your account and personal data deleted
Option B — In the app
- Log in at https://www.niya.africa
- Open Privacy & notification settings
- Use Delete account in the Danger Zone, or email us if deletion is not available in your app version
3. What we delete
When your request is approved, we delete or anonymize, where possible:
- Account profile (name, email, phone, addresses)
- Notification preferences
- Wishlists and saved preferences tied to your account
- In-app messages and social activity linked to your profile
- Designer/seller profile content you created (subject to marketplace integrity rules)
4. What we may keep
We may retain certain information when required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including:
- Order, payment, and tax records (for accounting and disputes)
- Fraud-prevention and security logs (for a limited period)
- Information we must keep to comply with Kenyan law or valid legal requests
Retained data is limited to what is necessary and is not used for marketing.
5. Meta (Facebook) and WhatsApp
If you connected to Niya Afrika through a Meta product (for example Facebook Login or WhatsApp Business messaging), we may have received data from Meta as described in our Privacy Policy.
- To delete data held by Niya Afrika, use the steps in sections 2–4 above.
- To manage data held by Meta (Facebook / WhatsApp), use Meta's settings: Facebook Settings and Apps and Websites to remove the Niya Afrika app.

6. WhatsApp and other channels
If you received WhatsApp or email from us, deleting your account stops future messages according to your notification settings. Past delivery logs at Meta or our email provider may be retained per their policies for a limited time.
